I just want to give this entire space to my friend Demcy, to thank her for teaching me how to use blogs. To show my gratitude for introducing me to the world of blogging. I knew this stuff before, I’m aware some people do it for living and past time, but I wasn’t ready for this and I think I don’t have the guts to write blogs. The fact that I’m not fluent and grammatically correct in the English language. In short, I’m afraid that readers might not appreciate my writing. Before, I thought the notion of blogging was kind of boring, perhaps it’s good only for a genius or book minded person, but I was wrong. I found it interesting, like writing a diary on my everyday life, thoughts, experiences, reactions and swing moods in a different way. It’s quite entertaining also when I read other attractive blogs. I learned how to customize my profile and put some accessories to make it more appealing to readers. Once again, thank you Demcy for being nice. I hope you’ll get all the things you desire. Anyway, you can visit her site at http://demcyapdiandias.blogspot.com. Check her writings and enjoy reading.

My friend Peachy invited me over to her son’s birthday party at Mongolian Buffet Restaurant located at 12 Mile, Ryan Road. The party was awesome, there were a lot of visitors and children. My little princess enjoyed playing with other kids especially when “Thomas The Train” came over. You can see the excitement on children’s faces. They were happy and having fun dancing with Thomas. They received balloons and party favors. My hubby was too busy with the food on his plate. He was amazed how many Filipinos there. The Chinese restaurant had a variety of Asian foods, it’s yummy. I like their buffet style, I can put an unlimited amount of food on my plate. Then if I’m not yet stuffed I can go back and get some more. It’s like to eat all you can, that was great!

I want to share my work of arts, these are my paints that are made from watercolor and Microsoft paint. As you can see, I am a novice painter, I don’t have any knowledge or experience, but I do have my own works that are based on my imagination and things that I have seen. However, it’s one of my ambitions since I was young. I remember after high school, I took up exam in one of the famous universities in the Philippines, UST- University of Sto. Tomas, to take a Fine Arts course and hoping I can fulfill my dream. Unfortunately, we’re a poor family, we can’t afford the tuition fee. My parents keenly disagree of what I want for college. Then, I just put it aside and pursued what my parents afforded for me. Though it’s still in my list of dreams, I’m holding on that someday I can have my own Obra Maestra. Now, I started to paint in a basic way. If there’s an opportunity that I can go to a Fine Arts school or a free class that would be great, I will definitely grab it.

We went to Nino’s Salvaggio, it’s an Italian market located at 10 Mile, Harper Ave. St Clair Shore. We bought some fruits, veggies, meat, and other stuff. It’s a nice market, you can pick fresh fruits and vegetables. They do have variety of breads, I was stunned how big their breads were. You’re going to like it for sure. This is the new market that we have visited. We usually shop at Manzella’s market, another Italian store for fruits and veggies. They have big place with lots of groceries in the store, located at 13 Mile, Harper Avenue. It’s a nice place too! We just want to visit other markets near our place. We don’t want to stick to one place to buy groceries. It’s good to know where to find a better place to buy stuff.

I met one of my fellow Filipina, who owns a charity school, Crystal Spring International-USA, located in Mindanao, Philippines. Her name is Edith Hendrick from Bukidnon, Mindanao. I was impressed with her ability to put up an elementary and high school, it’s a tough job, though she’s aware of intense responsibility. I admired her for the success of the school. She has even gone to some impoverished countries to join in a medical mission and offer her public service. She’s just a little Filipina woman, but she has big heart and a goal for the children in our country. This morning, I went to my friend to help her packed the clothes, books, eye glasses, etc., that will be sent to the school. Those donations are from the Thrift Store, who wants to donate and help orphaned children in my country. It was overwhelming knowing there are still people who want to give and share blessings to others without having a doubt, or second thought. How I wish, after 3 or 4 years, I can do same public service in Samar province and Paranaque city, my home towns. I hope I am able to have a medical mission or offer public service. Well, in God’s will, I know nothing is impossible, perhaps someday this dream will come true.

Loss of sexual desire is the most common sexual problem especially some menopausal women. Well, some still enjoy a fulfilling sex life, but others experience a big drop in libido. Some common reasons are reduces hormone levels, when the ovaries produce fewer hormones, the effect can depress desire for sex in some women. Sleep problems, the hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia before and during menopause can leave a woman too exhausted to be interested in lovemaking. Vaginal discomfort, loss of estrogen during menopause can cause a decrease in blood supply to the vagina. Less estrogen also thins the lining of the vagina and can make it too dry and less lubricated during sex, creating discomfort for some women. Also, Health issues like depression, fibroids and bladder control problems can all affect a woman's sex drive. Medications, some blood pressure drugs and some anti-depressants, including the recent generation of SSRIs, can decrease sex drive. Lastly, job stress, being a caregiver for a loved one, relationship troubles, and sexual performance problems in a woman's partner can sabotage sexual desire. If you want to get more sex tips and news. Go to www.webMD.com and search for "sex and relationships newsletter." Sometimes, when me and my husband bought a prescriptive medicine, we checked it first to this site to know the full details of the drugs.

I don't understand myself this past few days, why I'm having a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. Perhaps i think a lot, for some reason, my mind was too busy thinking many things. Would you believe that I'm still awake around one or two o' clock in the morning. Then, everyday i woke up early around four o' clock to prepare my husband breakfast. I like to do it, I wanna make sure my husband have a wonderful day at work. Anyway, i just wanna try this tips to maximize my chances of getting a good night's sleep. You can do it also if you're having trouble sleeping and try it for yourself. First, eat healthy, avoid large meals especially before bedtime. Secondly, maintain normal weight. If a woman with OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea), a sleep disorder, is overweight or obese, losing weight may improve sleep. Thirdly, avoid nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol especially shortly before bedtime. Then, dress in lightweight clothes to improve sleep efficiency. Avoid heavy blankets and consider using a fan or air conditioner to increase circulation. Finally, reduce stress and worry as much as possible. Try relaxation techniques, massage and exercise. I hope this tips work out with me and my body will cooperate. Wish me luck, guys!

My husband bought me a RollingStone Magazine, September issue, Tina Fey was on the cover. She looked like the clone of Sarah Palin, the running mate of US Presidential candidate John Mccain. In the advertisement section, there’s a controversial car known as KITT (Knight Industries 3000), also called “super car.” This car has advanced video surveillance, an intricate system that can tap into and co-opt any existing surveillance system anywhere in the world as well as any satellite orbiting the earth. It has Bio-Med drawer, an in-dash medical drawer comparable to one found in an ambulance. It comes with a biological substance sampler, a built-in centrifuge and a synthesizer that can automatically process an antidote directly into a syringe. The Orb located in the dashboard, this mechanism is a 3D glass ball that allows the driver to see voice recognition. When the driver communicates with his car, he can actually “look it in the eye.” Eyewitnesses swear that this car is capable of hacking into almost any computer system. They also say that its weapons system probably matches that of a Stealth fighter. Also, the car’s body is capable of transforming into the body of other vehicles and that this tricked-out sports car uses sophisticated holographic imagery to elude villains. More devices featured an in-dash fingerprint analyzer, anti-aircraft diversion flares and a cylon light that acts as a concentrated laser capable of serious destruction. Finally, a speculative power source, rumors range from amped up hydrogen to nuclear isotopes. Whatever it is, it gets 267 miles per gallon! Unbelievable, isn’t it? The car seems to have gone through some major upgrades and has never looked prepared to crush threats to national security. Police officials acknowledge that crime has declined since the car first appeared last month of February. This car was amazing!

Last year of 2007, my daughter and I went to St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC) for the vaccination needed for our visa. It is located in 1177 J. Bocobo St., Ermita, Manila, Philippines. You can phone them anytime at (632) 521-8647, (632) 521-0020. The U.S. immigration law requires that all intending immigrants be vaccinated against certain vaccine, preventable diseases before they can be admitted to the United States for permanent residence. Vaccinations currently required are as follows: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, influenza type B, hepatitis type B, varicella, and pneumoccocal. “K” visa applicants as nonimmigrant visa applicants are technically not subject to the vaccination requirement. “K” visa applicants who refuse to comply with the vaccination requirement will not be denied a visa on that basis. As a matter of expediency, however, it is encouraged that “K” visa applicants meet the vaccination requirement before they are admitted into the U.S. Bring your vaccination records for the panel physician’s review. You should bring records to show that you have already received vaccinations against certain vaccine, preventable diseases. The panel physician will review the vaccination records and will determine if you meet the vaccination requirement. Only the panel physician can determine which vaccinations are medically appropriate. This could mean that you may be required doses of vaccines that you have already received. Administering a second dose, however, will not endanger your health. After you have been admitted to the U.S. in “K” status and apply for adjustment from nonimmigrant to a permanent resident (green card holder), the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will use the panel physician’s vaccination assessment to determine your admissibility on medical grounds. Applicants who have not fully complied with the vaccination requirement will have to do so before may finalize their adjustment of status in the U.S.

I have a Betty Crocker Cookbook, it's a gift from my brother in law. According to the book, carrying excess fat is a known health risk, but where you carry it on your body matters, too. Yes, i believe it, that was absolutely correct. Studies show that people with "apple" shapes are those who tend to accumulate fat around their waists, have an increased risk of coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and even some cancers, when compared with their "pear" shaped counterparts, those who tend to carry fat around their hips and thighs. This connection between weight and body shape leads some health experts to feel that taking a waist measurement is important to assess health risks. Anyway, to determine whether you're carrying too much fat around your middle, place a tape measure around your waist just above your hipbones. A reading of more than forty inches in a man, or thirty five inches in a woman, is considered a health risk especially if your Body Mass Index (BMI) places you in the "overweight" range or above.

I started making this rosary just recently in St. Margaret of Scotland, a catholic church near my place where we attend mass every sunday. They conduct free seminar, so I grabbed the opportunity to learn. I was impressed to the different style of Rosary they made, also, it motivates me to make my own. Now, it's one of my hobby and eventually a good venture. This rosary is hand made with love and prayers by the Rush Family. It’s quiet, do not shine or break, absorb sweat and can be washed. It’s comfortable in the pocket and around the neck. Knotted Cross is good and preferred by the hospitals, schools, military and other institutions. Also the perfect gift & give a way during occasions like baptismal, communion, birthday, wedding, anniversary, and others. This can be a good present to your love ones in the Philippines or other catholic countries. Not to mention that some Non-Catholics purchased them as well. For more questions and details, you can email me at aphrodite_wood@yahoo.com.

I watched history channel last week, they featured about Nikola Tesla. Actually, I don’t know this man, his name was unfamiliar. Then, after seeing the entire program, I’ve learned that he did major contributions in the world, it was during year 1856-1943. He is an American electrician and inventor, b. Croatia (then an Austrian province). He emigrated to the United States in 1884, worked for a short period for Edison, and became a naturalized American citizen (1891). A pioneer in the field of high-voltage electricity, he made many discoveries and inventions of great value to the development of radio transmission and to the field of electricity. These include a system of arc lighting, the Tesla induction motor and system of alternating-current transmission, the Tesla coil, generators of high-frequency currents, a transformer to increase oscillating currents to high potentials, a system of wireless communication, and a system of transmitting electric power without wires. He produced the first power system at Niagara Falls, N.Y. There is a museum dedicated to his work in Belgrade, Serbia.

Here’s the Electromechanical devices and principles developed by Nikola Tesla:

*Various devices that use
rotating magnetic fields (1882)
*The
Induction motor, rotary transformers, and "high" frequency alternators
*The
Tesla coil,[30] his magnifying transmitter, and other means for increasing the intensity of electrical oscillations (including condenser discharge transformations and the Tesla oscillators[31][32])

In my place, it's a long way going to Filipino store. In fact, there are a lot of Asian stores here in Michigan, but it seldom to see Filipino store. Though, there are some, but it's a long way to drive. The Seven Seas Store, where you can buy Asian foods straight from China, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines. It's located in Hoover Road, between 8 and 9 Mile of Warren. You can see variety of Asian products like meat, seafoods, vegetables, fruits, crackers, noodles, can goods, etc. Filipino foods are limited, , though some of the goods are similar to other Asian countries like shrimp paste, fish sauce, rice stick and the like. When I visited the store, I bought Datu Puti vinegar and soy sauce, Mang Tomas, Rice stick, Ligo sardines, nescafe coffee, knorr cubes, rice and boy bawang. It was overwhelming having those Filipino products, I felt like I'm at home. Perhaps, it's my two months stock, honestly, my hubby is not fun of it. When I cook Filipino foods he doesn't eat it all, he just taste it. Anyhow, what matter most is , I found what my tummy is craving for, I'm definitely contented right now.
i just wanna say Thank You to Sharon, who gave me the location of the said store.

The Daimler Chrysler Company is a large manufacturing company of cars and trucks. It is located in Mound Road, 10 Mile Detroit, Michigan, USA. It is one of the largest suppliers of vehicles to the entire United States of America. It's a competitor of General Motors and Ford. The company invited all the employees together with their families to attend an Open House visit today. I'm grateful I had a chance to come there with my family and see the production of Dodge trucks. I've always seen it on the television, but now it's real. I'm glad i was able to see it closely. The whole plant was totally huge. It was amazing! In the entrance, classic cars were displayed, made late 1930's, 1960's to the present. I was fascinated with those cars, I've never seen this before. I'm lucky though, to have seen it. I wish my whole family were here with me especially my father and brother, for sure they would like it too. They're in my thoughts while touring the entire plant. To be fair with them, I took photos for them to see it and send it thru yahoo messenger, the fastest way to send photos. In the plant, you can see how it assembled step by step from internal to external body, to finished product. After production, the Dodge trucks were displayed at Warren Truck Auditorium, where you can see all the brand new trucks worth more or less $40,000. After we tour the entire plant, I was suprised there's a lot of variety of foods placed outside the plant. Oh boy, I'm stuffed from eating as well as my hubby and child. What a great day for all of us, it was awesome!

Do you believe that your dreams and predictions connected in your present or future life? Well, it does to me. When I was in grade school, I've dreamed of a man wearing clothes like a real Royal Prince. He is so handsome with white complexion, absolutely adorable. In my dream, I commute going to school by riding the jeepney. So this Prince walked closer to the window of the jeepney, smiles and stares at me. He takes my hand then we shake hands. I couldn't help myself from giggling, unwittingly I was smiling while sleeping. My sister woke me up, she kept laughing and threw the pillow on my face. Then, during my college days, my mom went to church. After the mass, she was mesmerized by those fortune tellers outside the church who make predictions to their customer's palm. So my mom tried it and sees her luck. The fortune teller says, one of her children, with a crabby attitude, will have a long journey in the future. When she got home, she was excited to tell it to us, hoping the prediction will come true. Obviously, when I'm young I have the attitude. I got irritated easily for some reason. They pointed it out to me and teased me. I just laughed and ignored it, it was nonsense to me. Surprisingly, it all came true. Now, I am married to a Caucasian man and live 8,000 miles away from my homeland. It's like a magic, hard to explain and believe, but things are real. Though, it's not totally the same in my dream, but it was close, and you can see the connection from the past to my present life.

Last October 22, 2007, Philippine Time, my brother Rommel aka Kuya Ame passed away from the disease called Schizophrenia. I was here 18 days in America and it happened during my wedding last October 21, 2007, US Time. At that moment, I'm dying inside, the fact that it's impossible for me to fly back going to the Philippines. It's really broke my heart, I never had a chance to see his burial to say goodbye. I was tearfully down, felt crazy and mourned. Everything seemed to be unfair, one month before, my uncle Lukoy had a heart attacked. I wasn't overcome yet, then unexpectedly next my brother's death. I am having a hard time adjusting to my new life. I am so far away from my family, I feel alone, it's unusual and odd here. Luckily, I'm blessed, my husband was very supportive. I have a shoulder to cry on. He takes care of me while I'm down. My daughter hugs me tightly, listens and stares while I'm crying. Every tear in my eyes, she wipes it out and says "Mommy, don't cry." I'm blest to have a wonderful family. Indeed, Death is another great adventure, knowing my brother and uncle were kind of adventurous persons, I knew they'll going to love heaven, bonding with God. I'm very happy! This poems dedicated for both of you. May you rest in peace!

THE LONGEST GOODBYE OF KUYA AME

Life brought you many challenges
many struggles and many hardships.
The years left their marks as lines on you face
and gray-hues colored your hair.
The sun weathered your skin
adding freckles from age.
Your mind slipped into its own world
where few could reach you,
as time took its toll.

We lost you years before
to the disease that steals the mind
and leaves behind the body to slowly fade,
with the passage of time.
A disease known as "the longest goodbye."
The person we once knew
the one I called "Kuya Ame,"

My wish for you
in this season of goodwill towards men
and for everyday since we "lost" you
is for a peaceful death,
a good death
a death of days gone by.
For you can slip away
without fanfare
without sirens
without shouting
without pain
And find a rest without waking.

This year we both got our wish for Christmas.
You left us with serenity and dignity
quietly and peacefully in your sleep,
the way you had asked to go.

I'M DYING INSIDE

Something so hard
goes stright to the soul;
it seems impossible to get over
and my heart is left with a big hole.

I'm trying to be happy, wearing a smile;
but I'm dying inside.
the world seems to be fading,
and I just want to run and hide.

Everywhere I go i see your face,
and realize how much I miss you;
and on the day you died
a piece of me died too.

It's a busy day for me yesterday, I don't have any time to write a blog. I even forgot to chat with my mom in the morning. She waited for me about an hour. I'm bad, I'm sorry mom! My mind was occupied with all the driving stuff. Actually, it was my first time on a freeway. I felt anxious, but I did a good job. While driving, I was sweaty and felt like I'm pooping hard. It's so funny, but I have mixed emotions at that time. Anyway, my friend Elizabeth is the one who was teaching me, we passed the freeway from 8 mile all the way to 16 mile. We were both quite impress of my driving, I did pretty well. I just need to familiarize myself with all the signs and pavements. That way, I can do it confidently without depending on others, and avoid driving slowly. Well, driving here in America isn't easy, it's a tough learning process especially when you're from another country. Whatever driving system in your homeland, better leave it behind. Here, you need to start from scratch in able for you to get a license. I made sure my daughter was safe, so I dropped off her to my friend Aira. I was surprise, she's behaved, and enjoyed visiting her. It's her first time to be with her so I'm kind of worried, that Aira will have a hard time with her, but I was wrong. I'm proud of my Little Princess, she's growing so fast and gained progress.

I just wanna say Thank You to my friends Elizabeth and Aira for doing me a favor.

I called my friend Elizabeth to go shopping. I left my wallet on the top of the TV so my purse was not so heavy. Then, Riona and I hurriedly went outside to meet my friend waiting in her car. Then, all of a sudden, she asked me to drive my SUV, so my driving skills would improve and gain confidence on the road, so I did. We all reached the Thrift Store safely on Gratiot Avenue somewhere near 14 mile. We were fascinated shopping for clothes and kid's stuff. I bought Riona a pair of long sleeve blouses and pants. I also bought a maroon fancy dress and cute little pink back pack. A few minutes later, my hubby called, and asked where I was and who's driving our SUV. Then, I told him that I drove and did so safe. He was freakishly surprise knowing I was driving without my license with me. He was so worried at that moment. So do I, it's unbelievable. I'm so stupid! I was very excited to shop and went out for fun, unwittingly I missed something very important. When my friend knew about it she felt nervous and nagged me a little bit. I guess I'm lucky last night the Police were not around or else I would have been in big trouble. I'm sorry guys it wont happen again. I promise!

So, that's my worst, scariest, fearful moment of my life so far.

Believe it or not my life before was chaos, I was down and hopeless. I was alone and unhappy about my life. I was a single mom before, luckily I have a wonderful daughter. Her father was like a criminal who had escaped from prison and ran away from his responsibility. I decided to end our relationship, because it was hopeless. Maybe you can criticize me, but I'm telling you I made the right choice. It was a very painful experience and the memories are unforgettable. I was devastated at that time, but I have no regrets. I've learned a lot from the experience. I've learned from all my mistakes. It has made me stronger and feel better about myself. Now, I can stand on my own and I'm ready to face the world. I'm grateful I can see the light shining all over me. I have a savior who heartily took my hand and showed me the right path. He saved and gave me another chance to find the missing pieces of my life. Now, my life is filled with beautiful things and I'm richly blessed. Like what I always say life is like a wheel, It will run up and down, believe me God is good all the time..
Note, i took this photo at Manila Bay, Philippines.
