"WHAT'S A CLOTHES SWAP?"

This is a totally FREE event, with NO obligation to bring anything or take anything. It's called a "swap"

because so many people bring clothes they no longer need, and take what they DO want.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

At home, sort and fold CLEAN clothes (clothes you wouldn't mind putting on your family to go out in public) by size into

boxes or bags. THEN, when you get to the swap, sort the clothes by size onto marked tables. Next comes the fun part.
Go to the tables with the size clothes you are looking for, and take what you need. Free of charge. No strings attached.

The organization will provide the bags for that day. One bag per family! This is the only way to keep the swap fair.

Some families are looking to clean out the clothes they no longer use, and they bring boxes of clothes in, sometimes leaving with just one or two "special" things. Other families are really in need of clothes, and come with little or nothing, but leave with a bag of clothes. Others bring what they took last season, for another family to take this time, and bring home another season's worth themselves to start the process again.

THIS IS FOR INDIVIDUALS ONLY ... NO charities, shelters, or resale.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

Look for clothes you might like to bring. Wash, fold, and sort them by size. Then call all your friends and family and ask them to do the same ... and come alone or as a group to the swap! Clothes swapping are even more fun when you can share your great finds with friends.

WHAT SIZES?

All sizes of baby, kids, and adult clothing (including coats, shoes, and accessories). VERY lightly stained clothes are OK as some people don't mind these for work or play, or are talented at removing stains. However, all clothing MUST BE CLEAN, NO TEARS. Fabric and baby accessories are welcome.

WHEN IS DROP OFF?

Anyone dropping off clothing the day before the swap will receive a ticket to gain first access to the swap, between 10-11AM.

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. You can also call to make other arrangements for drop-offs prior to the swap

PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons. All children must be supervised.

In the decades since Oprah became a media fixture, she has introduced the world to her best friend, her nutritionist, her interior designer, and her stylist. She has shared her favorite beauty products, her most cherished books, her philantropic endeavors, and her deepest secrets. In fact, there seems very little that Oprah is unwilling to share-particularly when it comes to the latest episodes in her never-ending spiritual journey.

New York Times best-selling author Stephen Mansfield traces the contours of Oprah's fascinating and influential life with a particular focus on Winfrey's quest for spiritual enlightenment. It is a well-publicized quest-one that features a caravan of experts, mystics, and gurus-all claiming to have a prescription for inner peace and personal well-being.

As the poster child for a generation of spiritual seekers and free-thinkers, Oprah has sent decades defining her spirituality as a form of empowerment that discourages absolutes and welcomes any ideas that appear useful, freely blending Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and the Christianity of her troubled but formative youth.

Mansfield carefully reconstructs Oprah's life experiences and shows how they reflect our larger cultural journey. He also reveals why her spiritual discoveries have resonated so loudly among her fellow Baby Boomers and have secured her unprecedented influence in our adoring modern world. In so doing, Mansfield sheds light on the dangers of a spiritual journey fueled solely by the desire for self-actualization.

In the end, we find that the story of Oprah is, in fact, the story of us-of a generation desperately searching for something meaningful to believe in.

This book is about Oprah's biography and her spiritual beliefs. I found this book quite enlightening and engaging. Readers can relate to her spiritual life. If you're a big fan of Oprah and a christian, you must read this book. We all know that Oprah made a huge impact to everyone's life. She helped many lower income family, homeless and even lost people. She has a talent that brings smile to everyone. Even right now, she shared her experiences world wide. If your a follower of her, you know the Oprah's lifeclass. She's a wonderful woman with a good heart.

What can you do when life doesn't turn out like you planned?

How do you respond when your husband or wife tramples your emotions? When your boss fires you unexpectedly? When you lose your life's savings? When the child you've loved and prayed for turns his back on you and your values?

When disappointments like these smash their way into your life, you may want to scream, "How could God let this happen?"

But what if God didn't just "let it happen?" What if the things you call disappointments are really His appointments-events He is using to make you more like Christ? What if your circumstances are actually the flames of His grace, intended to melt and burn away the undesirable elements in your life, leaving you pure and radiant-like refined silver?
You can be defeated by life's unaviodable disappointments, or you can become stronger because of them.

Life's disapppointments can send you on a dangerous downward spiral into discouragement, depression, or even despair. But in this eye-opening book, Kay Arthur guides you to biblical truths that will help you break that cycle and instead embrace disappointment as the cleansing fire God uses to make you-as silver refined-a reflection of His goodness.

I was excited the moment I received this book. I like to read it right away because its about life disappointments. Honestly, I have plenty of that so I was wondering this book could help me. Unfortunately, when I read the book, I wasn't impress enough. I dont know but the book doesn't touch my heart that well. But I was lucky to received a copy of this from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing group. You can get a copy of this at Barnes and Noble.
