Hello people, it's christmas day here in Michigan. My family just wanna greet you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We attended Catholic mass this morning around 10:00 am. I felt the spirit of christmas there, a lot of people in the church. Then, we went straight to my mother and brother in law. We ate lunch together and exchanging gifts. My little one was so happy in her gifts. Good thing, the snow storm is over so were able to did it today. Unfortunately, I heard that there's another one coming so it's kinda slippery again and dangerous to drive outside. I remember, I had a shocking incident yesterday. I drove pretty well going to our home. Then, suddenly when I was turning to the left side of the intersection. There's a bunch of ice in the middle of the road. The salt doesn't effect at all. It was slippery and dangerous. I almost crash and hit the car in my right side. Good thing, I manage the tire pretty good. Oh God, I was scared and my heart bit so fast. I felt freaking hot though the weather is very cold. I thank God nothing bad happen and we still alive and have a good christmas. Thank you Lord!
Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year again to all of you. Thanks for reading and visiting my site. May you have a wonderful day.

Right now, it's christmas eve here in Michigan. My hubby and I just drink some margaritas and corona to celebrate the holiday. My daughter is busy watching Santa Clause Movie. Tomorrow, we are planning to visit my mother in law and spend Christmas day with her as well as my brother in law. But before that were going to attend mass in the morning in St. Margaret of Scotland, it's a catholic church close to my place. Then proceed to my mom and play with her dog name Ginger. For some reason, I feel sad at this moment perhaps I miss everything especially during Christmas day in my homeland like our Christmas culture and tradition, as in everything. I can tell the big difference how to celebrate the Christmas here in America to my homeland. I miss everything like the noise, Christmas carol, bunch of gifts, endless visitors, never ending phone calls, the Catholic mass early morning around 4:00 am, also the food vendors beside the church. In our house back to my homeland, I also miss the variety of foods in the table especially the Pig roast or Lechon Baboy. Oh my gosh, it's damn yummy. Mostly, I miss the family exchange gift. I miss it a lot. Since, we siblings are grown up now and the fact that we lived far away from each other, we can't do it anymore. It's different now. We have our own family and responsibility. It seems like everything change for a very good reason and I wish for one day, I can take it back so we can still be together. Well, thats life, all I need to do is be strong and fight being homesick though its kinda hard for me but I will try.
So, people in the world, I wanna greet you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My little one and I celebrated our birthday last December 20, 2008 in our basement. My little princess turned 4 years old. She's kind of tall in her age. She wore her dress and received a lot of gifts. Like what I said, two more years I'm out of the calendar. Oh boy, It's unbelievable, time really quick. I am glad I have a good friends who helped me out in my party. Thank you so much my dear amigas. Anyway, the party started around 3:00 in the afternoon and end up around 8:00 in the evening. Thank God the party is over and successful. I want to say Thank You also to my mother in law and my Aunt who came over and mostly to my hubby. This party couldn't be possible without him. Thanks honey!

Good morning everyone. Today is my day, it’s my Birthday. It’s like an ordinary day for me though I am used to it. I think I am old now, two more years I’m out of the calendar. It’s unbelievable, time really fast. I received a lot of greetings from my friends in the Philippines and all over the world through my Friendster account. Thank you so much amigas and amigos. It was appreciated. I received a long distance call also last night from my parents in Samar, Philippines. Then, I’ve talked to my sister via Yahoo Messenger too. I’m thankful even though were a thousand miles away, we still manage to communicate. Thank you so much for your love and care to me. Then, I got a Birthday note from my hubby. It was displayed in our kitchen. He left it this early morning before he go to work. He didn’t bother to wake me up. It was a surprise & a sweet message. I have a wonderful morning. Lastly, I got a Birthday kiss & hug from my little one. She’s a sweet little girl. Few more days, her birthday will come too. She’s going to be four years old. By the way, I just wanna greet other birthday celebrants: My little princess, my kuya Rene, my cousin Richard Delantar, my mare Melani Palao, my idol Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, and to all December celebrants. Happy Birthday!!!

KABUL, Afghanistan – President George W. Bush wrapped up a whirlwind trip to two war zones Monday that in many ways was a victory lap without a clear victory. A signature event occurred when an Iraqi reporter hurled two shoes at Bush, declaring: "This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq."

The president visited the Iraqi capital just 37 days before he hands the war off to his successor, Barack Obama, who has pledged to end it. The president wanted to highlight a drop in violence and to celebrate a recent U.S.-Iraq security agreement, which calls for U.S. troops to withdraw from Iraq by the end of 2011.

"The war is not over," Bush said, but "it is decisively on its way to being won."
Bush then traveled to Afghanistan where he spoke to U.S. soldiers and Marines at a hangar on the tarmac at Bagram Air Base. The rally for over a thousand military personnel took place in the dark, cold pre-dawn hours. Bush was greeted by loud cheers from the troops.

"Afghanistan is a dramatically different country than it was eight years ago," he said. "We are making hopeful gains."

But the president's message on progress in the region was having trouble competing with the videotaped image of the angry Iraqi who hurled his shoes at Bush in a near-miss, shouting in Arabic, "This is your farewell kiss, you dog!" The reporter was later identified as Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia television, an Iraqi-owned station based in Cairo, Egypt.

In Iraqi culture, throwing shoes at someone is a sign of contempt. Iraqis whacked a statue of Saddam with their shoes after U.S. Marines toppled it to the ground following the 2003 invasion.

Reaction in Iraq was swift but mixed, with some condemning the act and others applauding it. Television news stations throughout Iraq repeatedly showed footage of the incident, and newspapers carried headline stories.

In Baghdad's Shiite slum of Sadr City, supporters of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called for protests against President Bush and demanded the release of the reporter, who was jailed after throwing his shoes. Thousands took to the streets Monday, chanting, "Bush, Bush, listen well: Two shoes on your head."

The Iraqi government condemned the act and demanded an on-air apology from Al-Baghdadia television, the Iraqi-owned station that employs Muntadar al-Zeidi. The reporter was taken into custody and reportedly was being held for questioning by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's guards and is being tested for alcohol and drugs.

"It harmed the reputation of Iraqi journalists and Iraqi journalism in general," according to a statement released by the government.

Other Arab journalists and commentators, fed up with U.S. policy in the Middle East and Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003 to topple Saddam, echoed al-Zeidi's sentiments Monday. Abdel-Bari Atwan, editor of the influential London-based newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi, wrote on the newspaper's Web site that the incident was "a proper goodbye for a war criminal."

After word spread of the shoe attack, Afghan reporters had gathered at the presidential palace in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, before a news conference by Bush and Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Some of the reporters — a collegial bunch that sees one another several times a week — egged on one of their colleagues, jokingly trying to pressure the television reporter into taking off his shoe and hurling it once the U.S. president arrived. He did not.

Karzai's deputy spokesman, Saimak Herwai, told Afghan reporters that they had to address Bush as "His Excellency," an honorary title not typically used with U.S. presidents. The request was followed by some, not by others.

Bush then took a helicopter ride to Kabul to meet with Karzai.

After their meeting, Bush said he told Karzai: "You can count on the United States. Just like you've been able to count on this administration, you'll be able to count on the next administration as well."

The mixed reactions to Bush in both countries emphasized the uncertain situations Bush is leaving behind in the region.

In Iraq, nearly 150,000 U.S. troops remain in Iraq, protecting the fragile democracy. More than 4,209 members of the U.S. military have died and $576 billion has been spent since the war began five years and nine months ago. The Bush administration and even White House critics credit last year's military buildup with the security gains in Iraq. Last month, attacks fell to the lowest monthly level since the war began in 2003.
In Afghanistan, there are about 31,000 U.S. troops and commanders have called for up to 20,000 more. The fight is especially difficult in southern Afghanistan, a stronghold of the Taliban where violence has risen sharply this year.

It was Bush's last trip to the war zones before Obama takes office Jan. 20. Obama, a Democrat, has promised he will bring all U.S. combat troops back home from Iraq a little over a year into his term, as long as commanders agree a withdrawal would not endanger American personnel or Iraq's security. Obama has said the drawdown in Iraq would allow him to shift troops and bolster the U.S. presence in Afghanistan.
It's unclear what will happen in Iraq when the U.S. troops leave. While violence has slowed in Iraq, attacks continue, especially in the north.

Bush was traveling back to Washington in the early hours Monday.

After the shoe-throwing incident, White House press secretary Dana Perino suffered an eye injury when she was hit in the face with a microphone during the melee.
Bush, who has grown used to protests of his Iraq policy, brushed off the incident. He said, "So what if a guy threw his shoe at me?"

Last Saturday morning, my family had an appointment in the OptimEyes clinic located at 13 Mile, Gratiot for our eye check up. I was kind of impressed on the Eye machine that they've used. It was really hightech and amazing. The Optemetrician told me that through the machine they can easily detect and tell you straight what's wrong with your eyes without doing any manual procedure. But they want accuracy of the result so they're doing both procedures. About my eyes, they found out that my right eye is near sighted and the left one is far sighted. So my right eye is the one who's working too hard than the other one. No wonder, I usually felt the pain in my left head. Though my eyes both in good condition, my Optometrist still prescribed me to wear an eyeglass knowing I often use computer and do some knit. Well, I don't want to get it worst so better to take care of it right now.

The Filipino boxing pride Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao defeated the Olympic gold medalist Oscar "Golden Boy" De La Hoya last December 6, 2008, US Date at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In round 8, Oscar's left eye swollen and bloody. Then, he has nothing to offer as Oscar throws in the towel on the 9th round. He's had enough. Pacquiao did not only win their match, but also earned the respect of his opponent. After the match, Manny told Oscar, "You're still my idol," But Oscar told Manny, "No, you are my idol."

My hubby and I watched the Live fight of Pacquiao vs Dela Hoya yesterday night. We both decided to get a copy of it for those Filipinos who live far away from the Philippines. I can get you a copy. If you're interested all you have to do is leave a comment and I will tell you what you're going to do. The Pay Per View is very expensive and many Filipinos in abroad can't afford to purchase it so I will make an effort to serve you especially my fellow kababayan. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
