These photos were taken by my sister, when she and her hubby visited our brother's grave and our family in Sta. Rita, Western, Samar. After the family gathering, they got a chance to tour around and visit some of the major tourist spot in Samar and Leyte province. Hopefully, we could able to visit there too and take vacation sometime next year so we can see it closely. According to my sister, it was a breathtaking views. I definite like it knowing I am a nature lover and a photohobbyist.

Samar, formerly Western Samar, is a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region. Its capital is Catbalogan City and covers the western portion of Samar island as well as several islands in the Samar Sea located to the west of the mainland. Samar is connected to Leyte via the San Juanico Bridge, which spans the San Juanico Strait, the narrowest strait in the country.
March 11, 1942 - General Douglas MacArthur fled from the Philippines, vowed to return.
October 20, 1944 - General Douglas MacArthur returned to the Philippines via Palo, Leyte.
Leyte played an important role during the World War II, witnessing the dramatic return of General Mcarthur to fulfill his promise to save the struggling Filipinos from the hands of Japanese Invaders. On October 20, 1944, the shore of Leyte witnessed his corps historic landing.
The San Juanico Bridge, formerly the Marcos Bridge, is a suspension bridge in the Philippines stretching from Samar to Leyte crossing the San Juanico Strait. Construction on the 21.9 million-dollar bridge began in 1969 and was completed in 1973, during the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos.
